General
Questions
How
long has operator services been used?
In
the U.S., the Operator Service ("OS") industry developed out of the
deregulation of interstate telephone services by the Federal
Communications Commission ("FCC") in 1981.
Prior to 1985, virtually all operator services were
provided by AT&T. The
deregulation of the telephone industry created a substantial
market opportunity for companies competing for traffic
requiring operator-assisted services and long distance
processing.
How
is OS different from a Prepaid calling card?
Prepaid
calling cards require prepayment for cards before users can
take possession and use them. Prepaid
cards are like cash. Also,
prepaid calling card programs can run into tens of thousands
of dollars to launch. Unlike
prepaid cards, we make OS cost effective and easy for you. Users
pay for calls after they make them. There
are no deposits or risks involved. Payments
for calls are billed conveniently after termination.
